- 250 gall-purpose flour
- 150 ggranulated sugar
- 100 gunsweetened cocoa powder
- 10 gbaking powder
- 5 gsalt
- 100 gcold unsalted butter
- 2large eggs
- 120 mlmilk
- 20 gchilli flakes
- 100 gdark chocolate chips
- 50 gchopped dark chocolate
- 50 gchopped pecans

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease two 20cm (8-inch) round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter until creamy, about 2 minutes.
Tip: Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Stir in chilli flakes and dark chocolate chips.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
