Making homemade bagels might sound intimidating, but these garlic ones are surprisingly simple and ready in under an hour. Fresh garlic cloves and aromatic oregano transform a basic dough into something truly special, and you'll love how the flavors develop in your own kitchen. Garlic is fantastic for your immune system too, making these bagels as nourishing as they are delicious. Best of all, this recipe uses everyday ingredients you probably already have at home, so you can whip up a batch without a special trip to the store.

Instructions
- 1
Mix flour, salt, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Add warm water and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
Tip: Use a stand mixer with a dough hook to save time and effort.
- 2
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook gently for 4-5 minutes until golden and fragrant. Set aside to cool, reserving some oil.
Tip: Don't let the garlic brown too much or it will become bitter.
- 3
Divide dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball, then poke a hole in the centre with your thumb and stretch into a bagel shape with a 5cm hole.
Tip: Work quickly to prevent the dough from over-proofing.
- 4
Place bagels on parchment paper and let rest for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 220°C.
Tip: A second proof helps develop flavour and texture.
- 5
Bring a large pot of water to boil with honey added. Carefully drop bagels in 2-3 at a time and boil for 1-2 minutes per side until they float, then remove with a slotted spoon.
Tip: Boiling creates the signature chewy texture inside and crust outside.
- 6
Mix melted butter with the cooled roasted garlic, garlic powder, and oregano. Brush generously over each warm bagel.
Tip: Apply the garlic mixture while bagels are still warm so it adheres well.
- 7
Sprinkle coarse sea salt over each bagel. Bake on a lined tray for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
Tip: Space bagels 5cm apart on the tray to allow even browning.
- 8
Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before serving.
Tip: Bagels continue to firm up as they cool.

Beergarita
My go to drink for summer gatherings is this refreshing Beergarita, and let me tell you, it's a total crowd pleaser. The combination of tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and a cold Corona creates something that tastes way more complicated than it actually is. Lime juice is packed with vitamin C, which is great for your immune system, and the whole thing takes just five minutes to throw together. Best part? It's incredibly budget friendly since you're probably already stocking most of these ingredients anyway.

Tropical Quinoa
This tropical quinoa bowl has become my go to weeknight dinner because it comes together in just forty minutes and tastes like a mini vacation on a plate. Quinoa is one of my favorite ingredients since it's a complete protein with all nine essential amino acids, making it so satisfying and perfect for keeping energy levels steady. The combination of papaya, red bell pepper, and fresh cilantro brings vibrant flavors and colors, while the rice wine vinegar and orange zest add just the right brightness. Best part is the ingredient list is simple and affordable, yet feels fancy enough to impress anyone at your table.

Crispy seabass with preserved lemon yogurt
This is one of my favorite quick weeknight dinners because it comes together in just ten minutes flat. Crispy seabass with preserved lemon yogurt is that perfect balance of impressive and effortless, with tangy Greek yogurt and zingy preserved lemon creating a sauce that feels restaurant quality but tastes like home. The seabass gets beautifully golden and flaky while the freekeh provides substantial whole grains packed with fiber and protein. It's the kind of meal that makes you feel like you're treating yourself without any fuss.
