Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- 3
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the sugars and butter until light and fluffy.
Tip: Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl frequently.
- 4
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the milk and vanilla extract.
- 5
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 6
Stir in the praline sauce and almonds.
- 7
Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a log. Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 5cm of space between them.
Tip: Make sure the logs are evenly spaced and not touching each other.
- 8
Bake for 25 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 160°C (320°F) and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Tip: Rotate the baking sheet halfway through the baking time.
- 9
Remove the logs from the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes.
- 10
Reduce the oven temperature to 160°C (320°F). Slice the logs into 1cm thick slices and place the slices cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- 11
Bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the slices are crispy and golden.

Lindt Excellence & tahini brownies
These fudgy brownies are my go to when I want something rich and impressive without spending hours in the kitchen. The combination of Lindt chocolate and tahini creates this wonderfully complex flavor that feels fancy but comes together in just an hour. Tahini brings such a lovely nuttiness while adding protein and healthy fats that make these brownies feel a bit more nutritious than your average treat. What I love most is how straightforward the whole process is, even for a novice baker like myself. Just mix, bake, and you've got decadent brownies that taste like you spent far more effort than you actually did.

Devonshire splits
These delightful Devonshire splits are a real treat I love making when I want something special but don't have much time. With just 40 minutes from start to finish, they're surprisingly quick and wonderfully simple to pull together. The milk in the dough provides calcium for strong bones while keeping these little buns soft and pillowy. I always use easy bake yeast to keep things straightforward, and the whole recipe is quite budget friendly too. Once they're warm from the oven, you simply split them open and pile on the jam and cream. They're absolutely perfect for afternoon tea or whenever you fancy a homemade indulgence without the fuss.

Courgette & mushroom bread
This courgette and mushroom bread is one of my favorite weeknight discoveries because it's genuinely simple to throw together in just over an hour. The grated courgettes keep the loaf wonderfully moist while adding vegetables to something you'd normally think of as indulgent, and they're packed with vitamins and minerals too. What I love most is that you probably have most of these ingredients already in your kitchen, making this an economical choice that tastes like you've spent far more effort than you actually have. The earthy mushrooms and fresh basil make every slice feel special, and your kitchen will smell absolutely divine while it bakes.
