Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- 2
In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, butter, and salt. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
- 3
Bring the mixture to the boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the caramel turns a deep amber colour.
- 4
Remove the saucepan from the heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to prevent the caramel from seizing.
- 5
Return the saucepan to medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the caramel has thickened slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- 6
Pour the caramel mixture onto the prepared baking tray and spread it evenly to form a rectangle.
- 7
In a small bowl, mix together the praline mixture, icing sugar, and sea salt.
- 8
Sprinkle the praline mixture evenly over the caramel layer.
- 9
Bake the caramel layer in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the praline is golden brown.
- 10
Remove the baking tray from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- 11
Cut the caramel layer into slices and serve.
